Our most consistent months for surf are June, July and August. As you move away from those months, the surf gets less consistent with December and January being our least consistent months. Our Hotel is located inside the pueblo of San Juanico and is two blocks from First Point, the most family friendly beach. It is approximately a 20-minute walk to Second Point where most surfers reside. Yes, but with a limit. The electricity in town is regulated and only offered between 4 hours to 12 hours and sometimes not at all. That means the Hotel only has electricity for the same hours. The water at the Hotel is from a well and clean and you can use it to brush your teeth without hesitation. However, each room comes with drinkable, purified water and there are stations in the restaurant and the outdoor kitchen with the same drinkable, purified water for guests to drink. Most flights that arrive in the afternoon at the Loreto Airport will allow for you to arrive before dark. The only exception might be in the winter when the days are shorter and you might consider a hotel prior to traveling to San Juanico. The wait for a rental car is short and the drive should take you no more than 3 and a half hours from the airport. San Juanico has a few shops that sell gasoline at a premium. 'Los Chinos' or 'El Charro,' sells gas right in town and they are local business who have been around for a long time! Yes, we are one of three places to rent surfboards and we offer priority to guests of the Hotel. Longboards are $15 per day and SUPs are $20 per day. Yes, no matter what time of year, we always recommend bringing a wetsuit. If you are visiting within December-May, the water is most likely going to require a full suit. If you are visiting within June-November, you might get away with a spring suit or nothing at all. With frequent offshore winds, we see a lot of upwelling of cold waters that can drastically change the temperature. During the summer you may not need it at all, but throw it in just incase!
